I have over 15 years of experience working with individuals and families, and overcoming major life transitions they did not ask for from personal and family challenges to overcoming widespread difficulties. Events have shaped the lives of everyone, and that has shaped the therapy need and our work. I take a flexible approach unique to the client or clients in the room and look at the core strategies to get through, find solutions, look at situations differently, build resilience, and find new avenues. My background includes person-centered therapy, existential therapy, CBT, process oriented hypnosis, structural and strategic therapy, family therapy, humanistic therapy, internal family systems, and mindfulness.
I have been proud to serve the federal workers and their families throughout my career and continue to be available in network. I am expanding to offer a group for displaced federal workers and those concerned about the changes in order to create a safe environment to process and build community out of isolation. In our area, many people may feel alone in their experiences or tempted to disconnect, and this is designed to break that idea by experience. My office is a private practice, not located in or affiliated with any federal entity.
*Group pending sufficient numbers to begin.

Hi - I already set up a profile with therapy for feds and I am unsure how to change it. I wanted to reach out ASAP because the Chesapeake Center has closed and I am unable to see clients through their center. I have started my own private practice and have put my new contact information in the above fields. I am hoping you can edit my current profile (name is the same, Gabrielle Gross) and update it with the correct information. Please let me know if there is anything else you need from me!

My experience includes clinical mental health therapy, clinical administration, direct service delivery and supervisory responsibilities. I have a great passion for working with our service members. The role I play in helping Marines and Sailors become aware, trusting and assured that utilizing the completely confidential counseling I and other MFLCs can provide them excites me to break down the stigma that therapy and mental health can have in their eyes. Please email to set up a free phone meeting to discuss whether I can be of help.

I’m here to help you find your freedom. I became a therapist because I believe my purpose in life is to be of service. I can relate to the challenges that trauma brings, and the power of finding your voice and your freedom. During my career, I have seen people change their lives for the better time and time again. I am grateful to be a witness to that process, and awed at the resilience, strength, wisdom and fortitude that all of us possess. I believe that help and healing comes through a good relationship with a caring therapist. I strive to connect with people through empathy and validation, and facilitate lasting positive change.

I am a certified Jungian-based Psycho-Spiritual Director in private practice, a Spiritual Direction Mentor at the Haden Institute, and a Founder of the Guild for Transformational Studies (Jungian-based home study groups, classes, and retreats for spiritual and psychological growth). I worked in the Federal government for 33 years and am thoroughly informed about Federal workings. I engage individuals and groups in therapeutic interventions as each examines the trajectory of his/her own life journeys. At the core of my work is a deep sense of what it means to be human living in the presence of Mystery -- that life holds questions meant for each of us to explore -- and an understanding that greater wholeness develops when we unearth undiscovered material in the unconscious and bring it into consciousness. This work leads to an intimate relationship with one's own inner truth and leads to improvements with others at home, at work, and in other social environments. I am a graduate of Haden Institute’s Spiritual Direction Program and hold an MA in Language and Literature from the University of Michigan and an AMI degree in Developmental Education, as well as coursework from the Guild for Psychological Studies.

Therapy is an opportunity to heal or get help in relationship. I work with individuals who want more than just tools. My goal is to allow for safe, deep, satisfying, and sometimes hard, but always enlivening conversations. My patients therefore hold a special place in my heart. I work with adults and college students who struggle with relationship, identity stressors, dissociation, trauma, anxiety, and depression. I frequently work with clients who have a co-morbid ADHD or Autism diagnosis. In addition to deep work, I can help you define goals and offer targeted treatments.
